Aerial, satellite, WiFi & CCTV engineers in Maidstone

The Maidstone aerial installers other Maidstone trades call when a signal will not behave

We have worked on Maidstone rooftops since 1998 — Victorian terraces off Tonbridge Road, 1930s semis in Barming and Allington, the county town's converted flats around Week Street and Earl Street, and the new estates spreading out at Kingswood, Langley Park and Leybourne Chase. Each of those has a different reception problem, and the fix is rarely the same aerial.

Everything is quoted fixed before we start anywhere in ME14, ME15, ME16, ME17, ME18 or ME20. Most Maidstone jobs are booked and completed the same day, because the van is already in town rather than being dispatched from a call centre two counties away.

One team covers the lot: digital TV aerials, Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream, Freeview and Freesat, extra TV points, TV wall mounting, home cinema, whole-home and mesh WiFi, business data cabling, and 4K CCTV. That matters in practice — a pixelating TV in a Maidstone loft conversion is often a cabling problem, not an aerial problem, and we can put both right on the same visit.

Maidstone TV reception

Maidstone sits under Bluebell Hill — which causes as many problems as it solves

Bluebell Hill is only a few miles north of the town centre and radiates a strong signal across the Medway valley. Homes on the north side of Maidstone frequently receive too much signal, and the symptom looks identical to too little: blocky pictures, sound drop-outs and channels disappearing at certain times of day. Fitting a booster there makes it worse. The correct answer is often attenuation and a lower-gain grouped aerial.

South and west of the town it flips. Properties dropping down into the Loose valley, along the Len and around Boughton Monchelsea can be shielded by the ridge, so a high-gain wideband aerial at greater mast height — or a Dover or Heathfield alignment — gives the steadier picture. We meter both before recommending either.

Maidstone also has a heavy tree canopy through Mote Park, Vinters Valley and the Medway riverside. Aerials that work perfectly in February start pixelating in May as leaf cover thickens. If your Maidstone TV problem is seasonal, that is almost always the cause, and raising or re-siting the aerial fixes it permanently where turning up the gain does not.

Too much signal in ME14 north

Penenden Heath, Grove Green and Weavering sit close to the mast. We attenuate and use grouped aerials rather than the high-gain units cheaper installers default to.

Loose valley shadowing

Loose, Boughton Monchelsea and Coxheath lose line of sight behind the ridge. Extra mast height or a Freesat dish is usually the permanent fix.

Conservation and listed streets

Around Week Street, Earl Street and the All Saints riverside we fit discreet, reversible installations with concealed cabling that keeps planning happy.

New-build foil insulation

Kingswood, Langley Park and Leybourne Chase homes block signal and WiFi at the wall. Wired backhaul and correctly sited access points beat any plug-in extender.

Two other firms told us we needed a bigger aerial. Maidstone Aerials metered it, said we had too much signal from Bluebell Hill, fitted an attenuator and a smaller aerial. Perfect picture since.
Sarah H.Bearsted, ME14
Booked at nine, engineer here by one. New aerial, extra point in the loft room and the TV wall mounted with the cables hidden. Tidy work and the price was exactly what was quoted.
Dan P.Loose, ME15
New build with no WiFi past the kitchen. They ran Cat6 and fitted proper access points instead of selling us plug-in extenders. Full signal in the garden office now.

Maidstone questions

Straight answers for Maidstone homeowners

Anything not covered here, call 01622 619811 and speak to an engineer who knows the rooftops in Maidstone — not a scripted call handler.

How quickly can you get to a job in Maidstone?

Most ME14 to ME20 jobs are same-day or next-day. We are based in Maidstone, so a morning call is usually on the roof that afternoon. Call 01622 619811 for the next available slot.

Which transmitter should my Maidstone aerial point at?

Bluebell Hill covers the majority of Maidstone, but homes shadowed in the Loose and Len valleys often do better from Dover or Heathfield, and properties very close to the mast need attenuation rather than gain. We meter all available transmitters before advising.

Can you fit Sky and Freesat dishes in Maidstone conservation areas?

Yes. Around the town centre conservation area and on listed buildings we site modern black dishes discreetly — rear elevations, low-level poles or garden mounts — with concealed cabling and reversible fixings.

My Maidstone TV pixelates only in summer. Why?

Almost always tree growth on the signal path. Mote Park, Vinters Valley and the riverside all cause it. Raising or re-siting the aerial fixes it permanently; turning up a booster amplifies the noise as well as the signal.

Do you cover flats and communal systems in Maidstone?

Yes. We install and maintain communal aerial and IRS systems for blocks, HMOs and managing agents across ME14 to ME20, including fault-finding on existing distribution amplifiers.

Can you sort WiFi as well as TV?

Yes — home WiFi surveys, wired-backhaul mesh, and Cat6 data cabling for Maidstone businesses and garden offices. Many Maidstone homes have both a signal and a network issue, and we handle both on one visit.

Are your Maidstone engineers insured and guaranteed?

Fully insured and DBS-checked, and every installation carries our 12-month workmanship guarantee. We are a Maidstone business, not a national lead-generation site subcontracting your job out.
